After pulling the curtain on its “All Originals Represent” initiative a few weeks ago, we took the chance to highlight a few of the individuals and creatives who we felt represent and embody their generation by pursuing what they love and doing it well. Having received a big boost from filming Kanye West’s “Through the Wire” video, Coodie and Chike of Creative Control are a solid example of seeing what they want and going for it — through every single stage of their brand’s growth. From music videos and ad spots to short films and television episodes, the duo behind the lens that is Creative Control possess a level of creative diversity and flexibility that is often too hard to come by. And yet, while simultaneously spreading themselves across a multitude of video realms, Coodie and Chike have all the while managed to maintain originality and unconventionalism when it comes to each project. Speaking with both the founders opens up insight into the ethos of Creative Control, the challenges they face on the daily, as well as their thoughts on being a true original.
