In December 2011, seven-piece band The Seshen appeared out of nowhere onto the cluttered landscape of SoundCloud and fatefully into our ear canals with their hypnotic single, “Oblivion.” Their music began grabbing attention for its array of influences, which dabble a bit into indie, electronic, and soulful soundscapes with a touch of hip-hop inspiration and the slightest bit of pop sensibility. Combined, all of those elements helped create the Bay Area’s eponymous debut album, which hit the ‘net back in March and can be streamed in full and purchased over at The Seshen’s Bandcamp. Now, finally, the Bay Area collective has unveiled its first official music video. Six months is a long time to wait for a video, but it’s easy to see that a lot of energy and creativity must have been put into these abstract black and white visuals. Press play up top to take a journey into “Oblivion.”
