Three years after their Music for Men offering, Portland trio Gossip return to the scene with their fifth album A Joyful Noise. Due to frontman Beth Ditto’s extensive consumption of Abba hits, the sound of the Brian Higgins-produced long-player results in a blend of disco pop and synth/guitar-heavy sounds rounded up by Ditto’s emotion-soaked vocals.
