These days it seems like the formula is rather simple. Just ask Pitbull and Flo Rida, for example. Dance tracks, especially those featuring the likes of David Guetta or another respected DJ/producer, equate to hits. But Drake isn’t necessarily all about that as he recently spoke on the matter, disclosing that he aims to go about it differently.
For me, the David Guetta stuff just doesn’t work. I don’t really wanna go there. There’s other artists, that’s their sound. They feel in order to thrive internationally that they gotta do straightforward, four to the floor, David Guetta, Pitbull music.
The Young Money golden boy then went on to say, “I’d rather go to somebody like Jamie xx and tell him, ‘Look, I really wanna turn the club upside down, but I wanna do it with integrity, with soul.”
Do you guys agree with the Toronto star, and do you feel like he may have burned a few bridges?
