Self-declared producer of ‘badman riddim’ Vato Gonzalez and producer of mostly everything else, Diplo have offered up a free track to coincide with SXSW and the Miami festivals in March titled “Rasclat Riddim.” The 110bpm cut seems to synergize several genres together with Moombahton probably being the most prominent. Dutchman Vato Gonzalez recently spoke of his initial encounter with Diplo via email stating (loosely translated from Dutch) “I got an email one day from Diplo in response to one of my remixes,” says Gonzalez. “From there it’s actually the idea to do something together. The project was slightly delayed due to logistics, but last month we the finished track.” Diplo tweeted today “Big free tune for all sxsw and wmc DJ homies,” as he states, the stream and download links are below for your perusal.

Big K.R.I.T. - King Remembered in Time

We recently caught up with Big K.R.I.T. at the Def Jam offices in NYC to explore the world of what many are deeming the “next big thing” in the South. Surrounded by heavy bass lines, rapid drum rolls and shouting vocals, you would think the heavy influence would bare down. Simply not the case. His approach – his own real life. Soulful soundscapes combined with thought-out lyrics, he shares with us the backdrop on his life and how it all came about in his latest mixtape 4evaNaDay.
