The courts of Hamburg, Germany have officially spoken, and issued orders to RapidShare (one of the world’s big file-sharing services) to begin proactively filtering pirated material from its site. The ruling comes after the whole Megaupload situation in which the highly popular file-sharing service was banned and shut down. Moving forward, RapidShare will be required to monitor user’s files for copyright infringement before they are made available publicly for download. Could this be the beginning of the end for RapidShare?
