Over the past few years, the popularity of Daily Deal (aka “Flash-Sale”) websites has grown substantially. Spanning just about every type of consumer good and service from fashion and travel deals to teeth whitening and massage packages, the widespread use of the websites seem to have, in many cases, taken prominence over both brick & mortar retail and full-priced e-commerce web stores as many users anxiously wait by their computers to see what each daily sale will hold. Case studies that perhaps hit closer to home have seen sites such as Fab.com, GILT.com, JackThreads.com and PLNDR.com develop into full-scale online store fronts offering discounted sales that are upwards of 50%-70% off of normal retail. Although discussion surrounding the longevity and sustainability of the business model have been recently debated, the prominence of the online shopping medium is something that is hard to ignore. So, as in all our Polls, we’ll leave the discussion and input up to you – Do you use Daily Deal websites?
