Louis Vuitton – Marc Jacobs Exhibition @ Musée des Arts Decoratifs Video
It is safe to say that Marc Jacobs has transformed Louis Vuitton to a full-blown global fashion
It is safe to say that Marc Jacobs has transformed Louis Vuitton to a full-blown global fashion powerhouse. Appointed as the first Creative Director to the storied brand’s RTW clothing division back in 1997, Jacobs’ tenure has had a string of successful collaborative projects with the likes of Stephen Sprouse, Julie Verhoeven, Takashi Murakami and Richard Prince. Given the synergy between the brand’s longstanding heritage and Jacobs’ approach to fashion, the designer has breathed new life into many aspects. This upcoming occasion is not considered as a retrospective but rather a contemporary expression about two men who have greatly influenced the fashion industry in two different periods of time. In the video shown above, Curator-in-Chief Pamela Golbin and Marc Jacobs explains further about this exhibition, which is slated to open today, March 9, 2012 at the Les Arts Décoratifs in Paris.
