Last weekend Vans held its eighth Bowl-A-Rama at the legendary Bondi Beach bowl in Australia. Split in two competition categories, Pro and Masters, professional and legendary skaters alike competed in their own subdivisions. The Pro division saw 16-year-old Brazilian, Pedro Barros win for the third straight year with a final round run featuring overhead 540 variations and dialed alley-oop frontside 50-50 grinds through the pool’s deep-end corner. This win for Barros also marked the third in as many weekends, building an excellent foundation to a long year of competitions. Additionally in the Masters division, 47-year-old Steve Caballero claimed his fifth straight Bondi victory, a fitting win as he also celebrated the 20th anniversary of his Vans Half Cab release – skateboarding’s first and longest-running pro signature shoe.
