The Local Firm´s concept is inspired by the German Bauhaus movement in the beginning of the 20th century, as well as art and architecture from the former European east-block. The design concept, “a contrast of status,” is a cross-wardrobe-based thought that combines garments and materials that distinguish themselves by contrasting one another. Founded in 2007 by Richard Hutchinson and Axel Nyhade, their latest Fall/Winter 2012 collection stays true to the aforementioned ethos. Mixing textures and cuts, this predominately black and grey line still manages to have a flare for the dramatics.
