Quantic & Alice Russell with the Combo Bárbaro - Look Around The Corner (Live)

UK’s revered independent artists Quantic and Alice Russell are joining forces for their first collaborative album Look Around The Corner. The album will be out on April 3, 2012 via Tru Thoughts. Today, Tru Thoughts has released a video of the duo and Quantic’s band Combo Bárbaro recording the lead single “Look Around The Corner” live in the studio. “Look Around The Corner” is out now on deluxe full-color 10” vinyl and digital download.

A multi-layered, intricate and stunningly realized song, “Look Around The Corner” envelops the listener in a bittersweet embrace of soul, blues, folk and gospel with the inimitable swing of Quantic’s world-renowned band, the Combo Bárbaro. Alice Russell’s soulful, powerhouse vocals, Quantic’s trademark warm production, the big string sections, and spine-tingling harmonies create an uplifting vibe.

The video was filmed and directed by the renowned videographer/photographer B+ of Mochilla and provides an intimate, raw peek into the live recording process. The track was recorded and cut live to vinyl in Hackney on August 8 last year during the London riots.
