Ryan Leslie continues to stay in headlines, in large part due to the recent $1 million law suit against him for not awarding the man who returned his stolen laptop. To tell the story musically, Leslie has now announced that he will be releasing an EP titled Black Mozart that was inspired by the unfortunate incident.
Black Mozart starts at the moment that I walk out of the courthouse. I wrote the entire album in the two days following the verdict, so the album is written and will be recorded in layers with the strings, horns and potentially a choir in the royal conservatory in Vienna, Austria, one of the homes of some of the most classical music ever written. I’m doing this as an alternative to re-releasing my album with two new songs. The seven new compositions will be great.
In addition to the audio release, we can also expect a coinciding documentary to be let loose. Stay tuned for more on the specifics.
