Lewis Leathers is a UK brand synonymous with old-world traditions with a contemporary effect drawn from biker culture from the ’50s and ’60s. PORT‘s David Hellqvist recently caught up with lead designer Derek Harris and photographer Horst A. Friedrichs to discuss the signature biker jackets that inspired their latest book project: Pride & Glory: The Art of the Rockers’ Jacket. With exclusive access to Harris’ personal archive – including never-seen-before vintage Lewis Leathers jackets -  the book offers a beautiful insight into the garment’s mythology as well as modern images that provide assurance that the future is quite bright and stylish.
