Amy Winehouse Coroner's Investigation On Her Death to be Reheard in London

The council London borough of Camden has announced that a new hearing has been scheduled on January 2013 for the inquest into the death of British soul singer Amy Winehouse. The coroner of the previous investigation, Suzanne Greenaway lacked the proper qualifications to carry out the inquest. Greenaway had been appointed an assistant deputy coroner by her husband, Andrew Reid, the coroner for North London, but Greenaway promptly resigned from her position after it was found that she had not been a registered UK lawyer for five years as required in UK law.
Amy Winehouse was found dead in her Camden home in July 2011, she was 27 years old. Greenaway had ruled that the singer died of accidental alcohol poisoning. Last year’s inquest heard evidence from a pathologist, Winehouse’s doctor, the security guard who found her, and a detective who described seeing three empty vodka bottles in her bedroom. It appears unlikely that a second inquest would produce a different conclusion about how she died.
