After initial reports that Jack White had been penned in to score the upcoming film The Lone Ranger, Disney has announced that White had pulled out of the project due to “scheduling conflicts.” A suitable replacement in the form of Hans Zimmer has been confirmed as White’s replacement for the project. Starring Johnny Depp, Arnie Hammer and directed by Gore Verbinski, the film has an equally adept composer in Zimmer, who had previously worked with Disney in the Jerry Bruckheimer films Pirates of the Caribbean. The statement from Disney read as below:
“Jack White, who had originally been contemplated to score and has contributed several pieces of music to the production, was logistically unavailable due to scheduling conflicts that arose when the film’s release moved to July of 2013.”
The Lone Ranger is set for a Summer 2013 release, watch the trailer above.
