For Fall/Winter 2012, Mark McNairy‘s unconventional lookbook featured journalist, author and former record industry executive Hooman Majd, an individual better known in sartorial circles for his impeccable suits and personal style. It’s this penchant for the unexpected that has driven the designer’s collections, a propensity for splicing American classics with prep and streetwear influences to create an intriguing whole. This season’s irreverent pieces featured bright, contemporary hues and wild patterns on a number of traditional silhouettes — button-downs, cardigans and chinos, among them — while an adherence to traditional American manufacturing and classic cuts kept things grounded.
