It’s been a while since we last heard new material from Jamie Lidell. In 2008, he released his long-player Jim, which boasted contributions from Beck, Feist and other notable guests, whereas his 2010 effort Compass offered a more introspective side of the multifaceted English musician. As we approach 2013, Mr. Lidell is busy prepping his forthcoming self-titled LP, and for this occasion, he premiers his new song “What A Shame.” Yes, indeed. Sonically, things do get skilfully weird again, backed up with big bass, synth-driven instrumental, and a boastfully colorful visual.
