Multi-talented actor, producer, screenwriter, director, teacher and author James Franco has been tapped by R.E.M. to direct the latest music video for the band. The visual accompaniment to the track “Blue,” the unique video splices together various footage of Los Angeles while Lindsay Lohan‘s photoshoot with famed photographer Terry Richardson at West Hollywood’s Chateau Marmont is prominently highlighted throughout the piece. “Blue” appears on 2011’s Collapse Into Now, the 15th and final studio album from the alternative rock mainstay, and is now available via iTunes.
