WTAPS 2012 Fall/Winter LUMBER JACK WOOL MELTON

Long before the gas-powered chainsaw and other modern tools used in logging were invented, timber harvesters — commonly known as lumberjacks — were busy toiling away with only an axe and a crosscut saw. Working for hours on end and in grueling conditions, historic loggers relied on their trusty outerwear to protect them against the harsh elements experienced in the forest. Paying homage to the long-forgotten days of log-rolling and the construction of logging camps, Japanese label WTAPS releases its latest coat for the 2012 fall/winter season. Made from 100% wool, the LUMBER JACK WOOL MELTON comes in two color options, red and mustard plaid, and features four large pockets — two of which incorporate the overall front of the jacket as the flap closure. Details include engraved buttons, a rectangular brand patch and WTAPS’ signature red tab. Coming soon to select stockists, the coat will retail for ¥71,400 JPY (approximately $896 USD).
