Uniqlo has finally addressed one its biggest shortcomings as it has announced that it will be rolling out a U.S. e-commerce platform. With just five U.S. locations — four on the East Coast and one on the West — fans of the brand around the country have generally been unable to shop the company’s range of quality basics. Coming six years after the first U.S. store opened its doors, Uniqlo U.S. CEO Shin Odake attributed the long wait to the fact that “we just wanted do this right. We were waiting for the right moment.” The new online store will expand on the brick and mortar operations with a greater selection of colors and sizes. To celebrate the launch, special promotions will be involved including Japanese denim for $9.90 USD and down outerwear for $49.90. Look for the online store’s launch next week.
