Video game publisher Ubisoft and nonpartisan organization Rock the Vote have partnered for a traveling art exhibition that will debut in New York on October 10. “Art of the Assassin” will feature original Assassin’s Creed III-inspired works from some of the most distinguished contemporary artists working today, a lineup that includes Artek, Bryan Flynn and Justin Bartlett. The Assassin’s Creed franchise, known for story lines inspired from history books, brings the action stateside for the first time in its third installation, with players fighting for freedom during the American Revolution. It is only fitting then, that the popular video game is now part of an initiative to encourage voting and building political power amongst youth. The tour concludes at the end of October with an auction that gives consumers a chance to bid on these exclusive works, with proceeds going directly to Rock the Vote. “Art of the Assassin” will be showcased at The Hole in New York’s SoHo neighborhood from 6:00–7:30 p.m., with more information available at the exhibition’s website.
