In a market flooded with printed headwear, MOUPIA has distinguished itself with a willingness to explore some of the more unexpected motifs out there. In the past, its selection of patterned 5-panels has encompassed a head-spinning array of fruits and vegetables — artichokes and peaches among them — along with florals, African prints, and a veritable zoo of animal motifs. Despite its wide-ranging selection of headwear options however, the Spanish label produces its wares in extremely limited numbers — the caps are all handmade by the best artisans in Spain, using only the highest quality fabrics available. For Fall/Winter 2012, MOUPIA heads to the fringes of civilization for its “Wild Animals” collection – an assortment of printed 5-panels featuring the label’s signature graphics, along with corduroy brims and top-notch craftsmanship. Produced in quantities of 13-28 caps per style, these headwear options will likely prove as elusive to purchase as the animals they showcase. The MOUPIA 2012 fall/winter collection will be available on the label’s website beginning October 17.
