In looking to “make the city sound better,” Copenhagen’s AIAIAI tapped London-based sound artist Yuri Suzuki to customize one of the English capital’s iconic black taxi cabs in celebration of the release of the brand’s Capital headphones. The resulting Sound Taxi comes equipped with microphones to pick up the surrounding noise while making its way through the streets of London, transforming the cacophony – in real time via specially designed software – into unique music that is then played back through 67 built-in speakers and roof-mounted Indian horns. Additionally, passengers in the Sound Taxi can tune-in to the creation via the vehicle’s installation of Capital headphones. AIAIAI’s Capital, specially designed for city-goers, is now available in-stores and online for $100 USD.
