Retired Durham University criminology professor John Tierney stepped aside from his career in northeastern England in 2010, allowing ample time for his devotion to oil painting. Since then Tierney has used the urban landscapes of New York, Los Angeles, and Helsinki alongside the California desert of Joshua Tree National Park as his muse. Pictured here is a collection of his work featuring the eponymous Paul Smith storefront on renowned Melrose Avenue in Los Angeles, captured in oil and canvas.
