Nas says 'Lost Tapes 2' could happen after all
Rolling Stone sat down with Queensbridge’s lyrical export Nasir Jones during the video shoot
Rolling Stone sat down with Queensbridge’s lyrical export Nasir Jones during the video shoot for “Nasty,” the first single from his upcoming album Life Is Good. While God’s Son remained tight-lipped about his new LP, he revealed that his recently scrapped Lost Tapes 2 could see the light of day after all.
“It’s still up in the air if I’m going to put out Lost Tapes II as an extra album. Hopefully we can find a timeline but the first thing is Life Is Good.”
The video for “Nasty” was directed by Jason Goldwatch who offered some details regarding the concept of the clip.
“The whole video’s a linear progression back from opulence. We didn’t cast. We just set up and people started approaching us through Snack, Nas’s friend who is sort of the cultural mayor, so the people in the video are actually from that street. Between takes, Nas leaned over to me and said, ‘I didn’t really fucking understand how important us doing this here was.’ “
