The concept of the “Dunkey” is a simple one: an amalgamation of “dunk” and “monkey.” Silly as it may sound, pop artist Dave White’s basketball-playing simians are quite impressive works. Working with fellow artist Coolrain, Mr. White recently returned to his Dunkey subjects in order to help craft a series of figurines based on the creatures. Accompanying the sculptures is a striking series of color portraits of each character that are definitely worth checking out in the slideshow above. Of course, all Dunkeys are wearing Nike.
