Too $hort featuring E-40 & Raphael Saadiq - Sugar Daddy

Bay Area rap legends Too $hort and E-40 have teamed up on songs in the past, but until now they had never put out a song with renowned soul singer and fellow Bay Area representer Raphael Saadiq. Given the song’s title, “Sugar Daddy,” and the three artist’s styles, you can probably imagine what this sounds like. The FADER summed it up best though:

Three Bay Area legends do the the things that Bay Area legends do, telling a cautionary tale about accidental tricking on top of smoothed out neo-funk with a Meters spine. Raphael‘s hook is silky and E-40’s groomed gibberish is always welcome. But it’s Too Short who delivers the choice line, He sweat the pussy like sweat Prince sweat purple pants. At last the grown and sexy contingent has its own “Save A Hoe.”
