SWAGGER has traditionally been associated with hip-hop and hip-hop styling, but for their upcoming 2011 fall/winter “DERANGE” collection, designer JON-E has chosen ’90s grunge as his main influence. His love for the genre and especially Nirvana is obvious this season with lots of distressed denim and checked shirts layered with short- and long-sleeved tees, jackets and hooded pullovers. Converse-inspired shoes and a range of beaded jewellery complete the look. Several interesting pattern designs have been utilized including desert camo, flower and a rather interesting kaleidoscope effect print. There is also a homage to the Chicago Bulls who dominated the NBA throughout the ’90s. The collection releases towards the end of August and will be available at all SWAGGER stockists.
