Japanese photographer Tomoki Momozono, otherwise known as MOMO, began his career as a sports photographer in 2001. Following a couple of stints as a studio assistant and trainee photographer, MOMO honed his skills in photography and lighting, which eventually turned into a contract with Japanese publisher Bungeishunju. Shown above is a series of photographs from Momozono titled “Art of Sumo,” an outsider’s view into the iconic sport of Japanese sumo wrestling.
