AR 2011 Fall/Winter Lookbook

Twenty-two years into his career as a buyer, Tatsugo Yoda, owner/founder of Aloha Rag, started to design clothing. At first, it was a few pieces under a nom de plume as a test, then it turned into a “house label” where items were meant to assist the brands already in Aloha Rag’s holster. Soon, Tatsugo’s ideas developed past a house label’s restraints. What he was designing resembled more of a Maison’s uniform vision of a season. He was working with a story behind the collection and trying to capture his ever-changing ideal. Now, with a lot more know-how, Tatsugo and Aloha Rag present the Fall/Winter 2011 collection of AR – an exciting new extension of Aloha Rag. AR’s underlying theme continues to be comfort, function and durability. In pursuit of the ideal silhouette, Aloha Rag employ the talents of the best tailoring factories in the world, and push detailing and finish to the forefront of their designs. For this collection specifically, military and street clothing is a major theme, creating clothing that will survive daily use…and get better with age.
