A copyright claim from a Japanese media company forced the suspension of Lady Gaga’s official YouTube channel. The reason behind this legal action is the posted footage of her 10-minute medley from her new album, Born This Way, on a TV show called SMAP X SMAP. As Time Out Tokyo reports, the executives of the Japanese company were not happy about this appearance on Gaga’s YouTube channel which led to their takedown request on Tuesday, July 12. Visitors to Lady Gaga’s YouTube channel are greeted with the following message:
“This account has been suspended due to multiple or severe violations of YouTube’s Copyright Policy”.
