Since its initial introduction in 2005, the Maybach Exelero has only claimed one owner. Priced in and around a cool $8 million USD, music producer Birdman recently laid claim to the only example of the retro-styled supercar. Under the hood lies a 5.9L twin-turbo V12 engine pumping out 700 horsepower. All this is required to move the beastly frame of the Exelero which manages a 0-60 time of 4.4 seconds and a top speed of 218 mph. The car’s original conception was a partnership between Maybach, tire makers Fulda, and the Pforzheim Polytechnic Department of Transport Design which gave opportunity to designers to submit their own concepts in which 24-year-old Fredrik Burchhardt won.
