Recently, Staple Design began releasing a “Director’s Cut” of the video interviews from their 1-2-1 campaign with letsredu.com which was intended to promote art eduction in public schools. For the most recent release, Jeff Staple talks with Jose Parla, a Brooklyn-based painter who was born and raised in Miami. Parla talks about how tough public school was for him (he was the victim of a shooting after being caught in the crossfire during a fight), but how art served as an escape.
