In this exclusive interview, ACCLAIM meets up with New York-based artist Swoon before her solo exhibition at the Metro Gallery in Aramadale, Australia. Known for her delicate paste-ups and large-scale installations, Swoon talks about her background and her artistic process. Raised in a rather small town near the ocean, Swoon moved to New York City where she was exposed to so many different things visually and culturally that it forced her to expand upon her classical notion of what art making could be. The artist also talks about the importance of finding different avenues of making things that interact with the world, like her recent trip to Haiti where she helped build homes.
