California is a place: Uppercut

From the outside looking in, Silicon Valley would appear to be made up of nothing more than a bunch of buttoned-up techies whose hybrids drive them back and forth from their solar paneled homes to their high-paying desk jobs. If this is the notion that you’ve had too, then you’re sadly mistaken. In the most recent installation to their California is a place online documentary project, photographer Zachary Canepari and filmmaker Drea Cooper present this documentary – the story of an underground gentleman’s fight club comprised of cubicle-chained software engineers and computer programmers. Moderated by a suit-and-tie wearing referee, his rules of this fight club are simple: (1) Do not cripple your friends and (2) Do not bring them to tears. Sounds easy enough right?
