UPDATE: Odd Future denies 'Left Brain' assaulting female photographer
Odd Future’s ‘Left Brain’ Vyron Turner has been accused of assaulting freelance photographer
Odd Future’s ‘Left Brain’ Vyron Turner has been accused of assaulting freelance photographer Amy Harris during OFWGKTA’s performance at the Voodoo Experience bash last weekend (October 30) in New Orleans. As NBC33 News reports, Tyler, the Creator had earlier told the crowd about his dislike for photographers and claimed that the barricaded enclosure where they take photos from was unfair to fans. Left Brain then reportedly threw water at photographers and pushed and kicked their cameras, before slapping Harris across the face and knocking her camera out of her hands. Harris told the media:
“I have worked many shows before, and I’ve had to deal with a band flinging water at the photographer, but I never expected this to happen. In the pit, the male to female ratio is about 20 to 1. There were way more men in that pit than women.”
There won’t be any legal action taken over the incident, but it sure will keep the blogosphere talking.
UPDATE:According to Billboard, the Odd Future camp is denying the aforementioned allegation.
“There simply is no truth to the accusation floating around the internet. It’s no secret that Odd Future has a love/hate relationship with photographers at shows. [It's] simply because they are given access the group wishes their fans would have instead.
“After telling the photographers to clear out multiple times (as they’ve done before) Vyron (Leftbrain) took a swipe at a few cameras, NOT people. To manipulate the situation [and] to insinuate an attack on a woman specifically is careless and manipulative.”
