This year has been nothing short of Nirvana goodness. After the reissues of Nevermind and 1991: The Year Punk Broke, an unearthed audio recording from the band’s April 18, 1990 date at the now-defunct Cambridge, Massachusetts club ManRay has hit the digital sphere. This treat comes courtesy of the Boston radio station WFNX. Boston Phoenix editor Carly Carioli explains:
Depending on who you ask, there were somewhere between 60 and 75 people in attendance. Bruce, who can be heard introducing the band, recalls”Krist was his usual silly self . . . Kurt handed me a t-shirt as we headed for the stage. I read the back of it as I introduced them.”
While the stream consists mostly of Bleach cuts, it also features offered two Nevermind tracks “Breed” (23:03) and “In Bloom” (26:30). Stream the set, below.
