Sydney electro-rock collective Danimals have been named the winner of the Tooheys Extra Dry: The Lab competition. As the reward the band was flown to New York City to record a track with British producer Mark Ronson. The resulting song “Fox” boasts an upbeat pop psychedelic sound with a modern twist on the legendary Beatles. High-profiled artists like John Lennon’s son Sean, Santigold, Nick Hodgson of Kaiser Chiefs, John Taylor of Duran Duran as well as members of the Dap Kings stopped by the studio and lent this project their ears.

Mark Ronson approved this project:

[Danimals] kind of pushed me in a way to go outside my creative box because they’re more experimental and stuff.

“Fox” is slated to be also featured the soundtrack of next year’s Tooheys Extra Dry ad campaign. Check out an artist’s dream come true.
