The vast work of Japanese fashion legend Yohji Yamamoto is finally being immortalized into a retrospective. Set next spring, the retrospective will include the release of a book spanning the designer’s 30 years in fashion as well as an installation at the V&A displaying 80 of his iconic pieces. The book, entitled Yohji Yamamoto, is edited by Curator of Contemporary Programmes Ligaya Salazar and features vivid images of Yamamoto’s work by photographer Max Vadukul. Inside content of the retrospect book include an interview of the designer as well as a round table discussion by his key collaborators Nick Knight, Peter Saville and Marc Ascoli. V&A will unveil the retrospective installation March 12, 2011 in conjunction with the book’s release. Yohji Yamamoto is available now for pre-order through Amazon.
