Many of you will already be aware that December 1 marks world AIDS day, what you might not know is that to promote then event, Maison Martin Margiela release a limited edition T-shirt each year, and 2010 provides no exception. For the first time, the fashion house has produced a garment with a text written entirely in Hiragana characters. The tee translates as: THERE IS MORE ACTION TO BE DONE TO FIGHT AIDS THAN TO WEAR THIS T-SHIRT BUT IT’S A GOOD START and a percentage of the sales will be donated to ‘AIDES’, a French organisation dedicated to fighting the HIV virus and to taking care of patients living with HIV/AIDS. The shirt will be exclusively available in all Maison Martin Margiela stores in limited numbers.
