As a graduate from Central Saint Martins back in 1983, Simon Foxton would kick things off as a stylist for i-D magazine the next year as the landscape and relationship between visual language and fashion photography were still in its infancy. He would go on to establish a notable pairing of fashion photography that maintained a balance thanks to a respect for traditional menswear and interjections of life through street culture, pop iconography and humour. The exhibition titled When You’re a Boy: Men’s Fashion Styled by Simon Foxton also highlights a number of Foxton’s relationships with accomplished photographers including Nick Knight, Jason Evans, Alasdair McLellan in addition to other work with John Balsom, Donald Christie, Ben Dunbar-Brunton, David Hughes, Benjamin
Alexander Huseby, Giles Price, Stefan Ruiz, David Sims and Simon Thiselton. The exhibit runs from now until October 4th at London’s The Photographers’ Gallery with admission being free of charge.
