Nike’s “Take It To The Next Level” implemented some unconventional techniques to create a surreal commercial which followed the progression through the ranks of a professional football player at Arsenal. Aside from winning an award for best commercial at the 2008 Golden Lion Award at Cannes, thestar-studded affair featured many of the world’s greatest players including Sweden’s Zlatan, head-butt receiving Italian Materazzi, former world player of the year Ronaldinho, Van Persie and Cristiano Ronaldo among others. In an interview with the main character, Gilbert Montoya explains working with famous director Guy Ritchie, the difficulty of adjusting to a ten pound 3 camera helmet as well as playing aside some of the world’s best players. Check the interview out over at The OriginalWinger.com. The original commercial is seen here.
