Based out of New York, Kehinde Wiley, possesses a strong and imaginative artistic talent. Best known for his unique approach, Wiley refers much of his style back to 17th-19th century Western art. Combining a representation of African American culture, many of his paintings place modern subjects into a time warp, creating a fusion of timeless masterpieces with vibrant color and meaning. Featured in many museums across the country, his latest exhibit titled The World Stage: Africa, Lagos-Dakar, based on his world travels, showcases the artists first solo exhibition at Studio Museum in Harlem. The show will run until October 26th, 2008.
