HYPEBEAST Weekly Staff Picks - June 6th
It’s been raining like crazy the last few days, really puts a damper mood on everything. However, we’d had the privilege being graced by a new regular fixture at the office in Jefford. At the tender age of 19, he’s become the new office whipping boy/un-official intern and claimed the title of undisputed HYPEBEAST of the office. This week we bring you our top pics of the week including Paul Smith’s latest watch collection, WTAPS tees, Nas’ upcoming album and the Eliminator x Michael Linnell Mega Messenger Bag.

Kevin – WTAPS 2008 Spring/Summer Extreme Prejudice Collection
Not sure why this ended up my pick of the week. Perhaps the simplicity of the fonts used or more simply the awesome brand and lifestyle WTAPS has gone about creating has appealed to me. Regardless this seem like a good choice for t-shirts this summer.
Jason – New Nas Album Cover
Nas is one of greatest lyricist of all time with many great albums since his
debut with Illmatic. His great battles with Jay-Z was considered among the greatest of all time, with “Ether” cemented as one the greatest diss tracks of all time. His upcoming album, originally titled N_____ (you know what I’m talking about) has created much controversy since it’s announcement. But even with its latest name change to “Nas”, it has not taken away from my anticipation for this album. I believe this is a classic in the making guaranteed by his usual stunning lyrics and smooth flow. This can potentially be one of the best rap albums of the year, we’ll just have to wait and see.
Season – Paul Smith 2008 Spring/Summer Collection
Watches have been my least favorite accessory of all times. I hate wearing watches especially in the summer because of the heat, the sweat and the stickiness. I JUST CAN’T STAND IT haha.. but ever since last year i started making it a habit of wearing my watch on a daily basis and since then i haven’t stopped wearing my watch. Instead, I feel weird when left wrist is left naked. I have been looking for a new watch for a long long time, but nothing out there really catches my attention. Paul Smith’s 2008 Spring/Summer collection looks like something I am looking for. I like the simple design and colorway… mostly the the brown strap/purple face. Let’s hope the watch doesn’t weigh a ton so I can add this into my summer shopping list.
Eugene – Eliminator x Michael Linnell Mega Messenger Bag
I find the sheer size of this bag impractical since filling the bag up will inevitably lead to a stress fracture of some sorts. Anyways, what really created interest in this product was how Japanese store Eliminator set out to predict the future by creating a design which they felt was indicative of how a bag of the future would look and perform. Without any specifics Eliminator have gone the route of creating a light weight and durable bag. I don’t see the relatively large perforations being a big deal, but you’re probably iidiot if it starts raining.
