This year, Oakley will be releasing a new color for the classic Frogskin frame every month. For this month, they will be dropping this beautiful Matte Neon Yellow frame which features the reflective mirror “fire” lenses. Nike has teamed up with the Japanese womens’ fashion brand Milkfed to create this eye catching pair of the Air Rifts. Milkfed’s “cutey” style can be seen in these lightweight sneakers as they have decided to sprinkle the shoe with a silver metallic material making it nice and girly. Available at Essense on June 2nd.
A Bathing Ape has released an all new Bapesta which is predominately white in color but features a “Milo Monogram” on the upper. Fun and simple, these Bapestas are now available at the Bapexclusive store located in Aoyama, Japan.
COMME des GARCONS has released a new series of wallets for their 2008 summer campaign. For the Japanese brand, their popularity has slowly leached into the mainstream and has been aided greatly by the creation of various sub-lines catering to different demographics and budgets. A look at their latest wallets include various embossed patterns such as numbers, letters and other patterns. Available now at select IT stores in Hong Kong.
Original Fake has updated their website with a preview to one of their new t-shirt designs which features several previous designs meshed into the letters “OF”. We assume this new t-shirt will be available at the Original Fake store as well as at Original Fake dealers in the upcoming weeks.
Chances are you either don’t remember the hip hop posse cut, or it’s a vague image in the back of your brain stuck in-between your memory of Gumby flat tops and Horror core rap. It’s hard to believe now, but at one time the hip hop posse cut was a common occurrence on just about every major hip hop album that dropped. MCs would form allegiances with artists outside of their immediate group simply out of the fact that they were fans of the other artist. They asked a group of MCs to jump on a track with them and the other MCs happily obliged. What would result was a tour de force of lyricism with the next MC trying to outdo the other in a friendly competition over the hardest beat they could find. However, somewhere along the way the hip hop audience heard less and less posse cuts on albums. Chalk it up to industry politics, artist animosity or just plain disinterest but it’s obviously clear that the posse cut is becoming a lost art.
No one in the current hip hop climate knows the power of the posse cut like Busta Rhymes. As a member of the Leaders of the New School early in his career, Busta made a name for himself as a solo artist by completely destroying any posse cut he landed on (including the completely classic verse on Scenario). Therefore, it is not surprising that at this point in his career Busta chooses to help usher in the new posse cut renaissance disguised as the remix. The original version of “Don’t Touch Me” is what you would expect from Busta, an energetic lyrical rant over minimalist jungle drums. The remix breathes new life into the track by giving each artist on it a chance to reinterpret the song. Everyone holds their own here but Lil Wayne turns the beat into a drug induced playground as hip rips the track in half and Nas sounds about 10 years younger as the track seems to re-energize him. Also, it is always great to hear one of the originators of the posse cut Big Daddy Kane.
Although this latest version of the Fuji Rod has been known for quite some time, the Hiroshi Fujiwara designed Fuji Rod has finally been given a full view as well as labeled with a solid release date. The off white leather upper features rainbow references on the heel and tongue chosen by Hiroshi himself with no concrete info… Releasing May 31st at the honeyee Store.

Jordan Brand continues into June with another AJF5 release. Bringing together both the Air Force 1 and Air Jordan V, the two highly respected models in their own right have brought mixed reactions from your usual crowd of sneaker connoisseurs; Perhaps more so the first few colorways more so the concept itself. This June 10th release features a USA-esque colorway with white, red and blue with the use of patent leather and perforated leather.

Since 1982, Nike has had great success pushing the innovation envelope. From the development of cushioning technology such as Shox, Zoom Air to space aged materials and designs such as Foamposite and Flywire, for one NBA athlete these advancements have done little to sway his respective choice of footwear. Rasheed Wallace has been a dedicated follower to the Air Force 1 movement and the lone NBA representative of the 26 year old sneaker. Up until recently, the AF1’s design was unscathed, however recent times have brought the Air Force 1 up to par with the inclusion of such (relatively speaking) recent techs such as Air Max. To once again commemorate Rasheed Wallace’s affiliation with the AF1, Nike threw together a set of kicks for the Detroit Pistons player. Each pair features the silhouette of “Sheed” on the ankle portion.
