Despite the debut of a special collection of bags with fashion designer Raf Simons, business is as usual for the first bag makers to utilize Cordura in their construction. A look at their collection for spring includes a series of printed bags. Upon Eastpak’s foundation, they were among the first to delve in unconventional prints and colorways. Almost 50 years since its inception, things are pretty much the same. Each of the bags are backed by a 30 year “Built to Resist” warranty. Among the releases is a special joint project with French artist Genvieve Gauckler who’s other projects include works with Medicom Toys among others. Available now at Hong Kong’s D-Mop.
In a recent blog post from TK (of Hong Kong lifestyle group SiLLY THING), he speaks of an upcoming Medicom Toy Bearbrick exhibition set to take place in China’s capital next month. Maybe its something Olympic related? The only detail TK revealed was a blank Bearbrick template however the concept seems similar to the project initiated by Nike South East Asia to commemorate the Windrunner. Despite many Air Jordans holding the role of lifestyle products in their own right rather then their original designation as a performance basketball shoe, Jordan Brand has ensured the brand is seen as more diverse than the Air Jordan models of the past which has paved its way to success. With items like the Spiz’ike being held in relatively popular flavor, the PHLY joins the ranks with its Air Jordan inspirations. Two colorways seen here have immediate reference to the AJIII. These are set to enjoy a small ten store release before a full roll out is expected for the summer. Available Saturday, March 15th at Philadelphia’s Ubiq with a price of $85 USD.
Photographer Yasumasa Yonehara is widely known for his photographs of girls in seductive poses. Recently, Yone has collaborated with Japanese model Aki Hoshino on the “Sneaker Lover” book where Aki poses with some of the most sought after sneakers. Now together with KIKS TYO, they have created a series of six limited edition t-shirts based on photographs from the book. Here are the first two which includes the “One the Bed” tee and the “At the Beach” tee. All customers who pre-order this tee will be entered into a draw for the new Medicom Toy KIKS TYO x Aki Hoshino Kubrick (blue version). Available now at the KIKS TYO Shop.
Look for Japanese manga series Naruto to be created into Bearbrick form in an upcoming collaboration. The Naruto series follows the main character Naurto as he develops as a ninja and endures personal growth. This however is the Sasuke Uchiha edition which is a character who often competes with Naruto. No word yet on availability.
