Major, a sneaker boutique located in Washingon, DC, was one of the shops chosen by Adidas to collaborate on the Remix EQT BBall Hi. Major designed this shoe with their of all time favorite shoe in mind, the Jordan XI Space Jams. The shoe also has a metallic gold “Major” embroidery as well as a speckled sock. Major has also put the Washington Metro Map as an tribute the their hometown city. The shoe comes with three sets of laces (black, gold and back with carbon fiber print tips) as well as an extra gold sock. The shoes will cost $150 USD and will be released on February 23rd at the Major DC store. You probably will want to head down early as only 30 pairs will be available.
A few years back, it was fashionable in the Sneakerhead community to match your sneakers along with your clothes like t-shirts or jackets. However, for the past year or so, both “Sneakerheads” and “HYPEBEASTs” have opted for more low-cut and stylish sneakers from brands like Vans or Converse. Individuals now focuses on their overall look rather than wearing just hyped up sneakers (like the Dunks). Just today, the Japanese web magazine Honeyee has published a look book feature showing you that Dunks can actually look good if worn with the right pieces. In the feature, you will not see black dunks with a black shirt but rather you will get to experience how a sporty shoe like the Dunk can go with a more sophisticated fit.

This year’s presidential race has been a hot topic, drawing the attention of the normally apathetic American population as people are turning out in droves to have their say in the 2008 elections. Barack Obama has gained a huge following, everything from the celebrity filled music video Barack Obama Yes We Can to this recent print produced by the artist collective known as the Date Farmers in conjunction with FIFTY24SF. The signed and numbered print seen here is part of Upper Playground’s push for Obama in his upcoming Texas primaries. These prints reflect the same imagery seen on Obama’s Texas campaign. All proceeds from the $200 prints will be used to support other artist efforts in support of Barack Obama. Currently on pre-sale, the prints will ship out March 7th.
