Episode 2 of the Nike Air Force 1 25th Anniversary “Original 6” has recently been posted on the web. The video offers a detailed insight on the success of the Air Force 1 due to the association of the Original 6 endorsee’s. For many the Original 6 are from an era which was before our time however the video gives a great description of the attributes of each player. It is interesting to note that many of the Original 6 endorsee’s were defensive specialists. Although we all know defensive doesn’t sell tickets, this did not stop the AF1 from being the world’s most popular sneaker.

Sanrio’s 33 year old Hello Kitty has shown it’s power as an icon with various collaborations within the last few years which has included the likes of Bathing Ape, Colette and Atmos. The latest collaboration is via Jun Takahashi’s Undercover brand and certainly creates a stir with the combination of high fashion meets cartoon character. These will go on sale June 9th only at Undercover’s store in Aoyoma.

Hong Kong brand Subcrew have created a special limited edition run of 40 hats for Taiwanese artist DJ Mykal for his upcoming album, “Original Brainchild”. For those unfamiliar with DJ Mykal’s style, he creates a mix of music that transcends the lines of both culture and time with a mix of Classic Rock, Alternative Rock, Hip-Hop, Breakbeat, House, Drum ’n Bass.

We have seen a growing trend in regards to the use of accessories on sneakers with lace locks, and eye hole jewelery. However, the latest accessory trends come via Bite, a Japanese brand who have just released a number of fitted clips for hats. These clips can come to represent anything you choose with a plethora of choices with numbers, letters, and symbols. Bite has also collaborated with Liquor, Women, and Tears to create special edition pink 18K gold plated clips (available at Zozotown) as well as 18K gold plated clips at the LWT’s flagship store in Tokyo.
