Hong Kong Evisu amassed the talents of 48 local Hong Kong artists to participate in their Cube Gallery. The Cube Gallery was an idea inspired by the post-modern displays of art seen in Tokyo and Osaka where unconventional locations add to the allure of art as they battle side by side with the noise of pachinko machines and the shadows cast by clubs. Each artist was given few guidelines except the following 1. Their piece must use denim 2. There must be at least one “Evisu” part 3. The art piece had to fit in a box 36cm x 36cm x 36cm. Aside from denim, the artists were given other pieces and parts used in the creation of denim which included buttons, rivets, labels and tags.
All pieces are shown in a touring exhibition through the following dates and venues:
April 11 – 17 :: EVISU Ocean Terminal Store (OT 304, Tsim Sha Tsui)
April 18 – 27 :: D-MOP Kingston St Store (Upper floor, Causeway Bay)
April 28 – May 08 :: EVISU Ocean Terminal Store (OT 304, Tsim Sha Tsui)
In the final week, each piece will be available for auction in $100 increments at starting prices listed by the artists. All proceeds will benefit the Hong Kong Children’s Cancer Foundation.

With the first leg of Staple Design’s 10th Anniversary already released, gear up for another helping of collaboration tee’s to mark the 10th Anniversary of Staple Design. Included amongst the 2nd round of collaboration designers are Andrew Sutherland, Bobbito Garcia, Cody Hudson (of Struggle Inc.), Exposure, John Jay, Matzu, WK Interact, and Fragment (Hiroshi Fujiwara). A special edition Japan only Fragment tee will be available in white at Reed Space.

However war was also the basis of many revolutionary thoughts and ideas that constantly pique social consciousness. Using this as a basis for their Fall and Winter line, MHI has created a line with the slogan “Resistance is Persistence” as it’s theme. Within this line you will find many different pieces, yet every piece has been created to commemorate the social righteousness of all those who have fight the wars recent and from times long past. With this vast line up, many different items are featured. Everything from tee-shirts to jackets and denim can all be found in different forms, surely there’s something that has the potential to spark your interest.

Honolulu Hawaii’s Leilow have been busy as of late with numerous releases in recent memory. Next month look for this black/purple single stitch circle New Era Fitted to release. Acapulco Gold’s latest Spring 2007 offerings rolled into In4mation and much like lines before there is no shortage of references to pop culture. This spring’s line includes references to various brand names and Eric B. & Rakim’s track Microphone Fiend.
Japanese toy-maker Medicom has recently unveiled some new upcoming Bearbricks. Included in these releases are some collaborations with Japanese mixed martial artist Uno Caol’s Uno Caol Show-Ten brand (Caol released a Nike CF Low/Free 5.0 pack with Nike recently), a 3 pack of figures themed after late 70’s Japanese electropop band Yellow Magic Orchestra, a 400% Jack Sparrow (of the Pirates of the Caribbean Series) figure to commerate the upcoming release of the 3rd installment of the Pirates of the Caribbean, “At World’s End”. Rounding off the new releases are 512 MB USB sticks of memory each in the shape of the iconic Bearbrick. The USB stick is available in three different colors, each with a different saying on the front.
