We’re looking for a web developer to lead development of HYPEBEAST.com and other projects. The candidate should be comfortable working in a fast-paced and possess excellent communications skills. Job Responsibilities: • Develop PHP/MySQL websites • Maintain PHP/MySQL websites • Protect site from vulnerabilities/security holes • Troubleshoot site and server issues • Communicate technology effectively with managers, designers, and decision makers Skills required: • 1 or more years of overall web development experience • Expert level HTML, CSS, JavaScript, PHP scripting experience required • Working knowledge of AJAX • mySQL database integration experience • Knowledge of LAMP environment • Efficient at handling multiple schedules and deadlines • Experience on large-scale projects that range in variety and complexity including database design Desired: • Experience working on CMS sites is a plus • Degree in computer science, information technology, computer engineering or related degree is a plus • Patience Compensation: • Competitive and commensurate with experience The job will be full time contract based. About a month ago, we showed you an early sample of the Alpha Jordan I. Here’s a look at what is apparently the final release with a full picture (original sample did not have this) of Jordan in his college days with UNC visible on the side. These shoes in itself have some very nice features including the clear swoosh and the translucent blue sole. A rumored Alpha/Omega pack that was to include an Omega XX2 has been disproved. Vans "3 Feet High" Program

We’ve seen a few teasers of the Vans “3 Feet High” Program over the past couple of months, but now it’s time to get a proper introduction. It is a brand new Vans division, with distribution in only 3 boutiques nationwide, which happen to be the 3 brands involved in the program: KICKS/HI, HUF (SF), and DQM (NYC). Each shop will do their own take on classic Vans silhouettes. The first edition of monumental release will occur this Saturday March 17 with the Vans Chukka Boot. The Vans “3 Feet High: DQM” Chukka consists of a gingham patterned body, 3 lace options, an ingenius play on the famous “off the wall” Vans logo with “off the bone”, gumsole, and leather inner lining. The Vans “3 Feet High: HUF” Chukka features a tongue-in-cheek play on the snakeskin theme with one lace option stating “Even snakes are afraid of snakes.” Features also include a black leather snakeskin body, a lime green lace option, imprinted HUF lettering on the heel, and all white midsole/sole makes for an all around heater. The Vans “3 Feet High: KICKS/HI” Chukka is definitely the most colorful shoe of the bunch with lime green, grass green and shop orange. It also utilizes the most materials with a perforated leather toe, suede side panels, faux croc heel, and leather lining. If you make it out the release this Saturday March 17, a “3 Feet High” tee will be available in either white or black with the “3” front and center filled with the logos of KICKS/HI, HUF, and DQM. Quiksilver takes advertising to a new level with their recent billboards in Copenhagen. One of their new ad spaces allow skaters to go on a Quiksilver mini ramp attached to a bus stop. And if that’s not enough, there’s also a Quiksilver billboard that has a rail attached to it for those who have the sudden itch to grind. For surfers, there is a bus stop with a surfboard bench with the whole stop containing a whole wave image.
